It's been a while since we've seen a consistent trilogy of films that are all great quality, and if any franchise deserves it, it's Batman.
RarityDash
I'm honestly doing a good job not to get caught up in the hype for it yet. That said, I'm still expecting excellence from this film.
Rain
I'm expecting a lot from it as well. I've been a Batman fan (Batfan?) since I could remember.Batman Begins had such an awesome representation of the Scarecrow. (Fun Fact: In the comics, Scarecrow is a fear-addicted sociopath who is only afraid of Batman himself. He's actually rarely intimidated by anyone or anything else, much to the frustration of Gotham PD. )And The Dark Knight? That was the PERFECT JOKER. I've read Arkham Asylum:A Serious House on Serious Earth, and seen the original movies, and read the comic, of course. Heath Ledger's Joker is a perfect combination of all of those things; the sarcastic, the dark, the loony, the circus-y, and the voice. And Two-Face? Man, what an amazing performance, I was shocked at how well Eckhart performed the role of Harvey Dent. Now, The Dark Knight Rises. I hope they'll acknowledge the following points about the newest villains:1. Catwoman is a sultry, talented thief. She doesn't fight as well as she does trick people. She should test Batman's wits and detective skills more than previous villains. If anything, a fight between the two should be mostly her ducking and weaving around him, and disappearing when he gets distracted.2. Bane (also known as "The man who broke the Bat".) is hard to fight. He's stronger, faster, and sharper-minded than most people, and that's WITHOUT pumping some of his own muscle-enhancing "Venom".Sorry about writing all that, I just couldn't stop typing for a minute or two.In short, I hope this movie is as good, if not better, than the previous installments.

Davroth
Don't get me wrong. I will watch this movie day one, no doubt in my mind, but!I'm really not that excited about it, though. Nolan made 2 incredible batman movies so far, but nothing I've seen so far really tickles my fancy.

Nolan made 2 incredible batman movies so far, but nothing I've seen so far really tickles my fancy.This. I'm a HUGE Batfan but nothing in this... is getting me pumped. He has such a huge rogue's gallery and all we get is Bane? No disrespect to the character but I was expecting a bit more color. Instead, Nolan is trying nothing new and just giving us lots of browns and grays. There's no personality. No charisma. I dare-say, I'm almost bored with it.I guess what I'm really wishing for will be forever out of reach...

Nolan made 2 incredible batman movies so far, but nothing I've seen so far really tickles my fancy.Well may I ask why?The thing is that I personally think the Nolan Batman films are the best ones out there as they are more of a character study then action pieces. Its more about the characters then it is about Batman going around beating up villains. And for me this works really well, compare that to the Burton films for example. The first Tim Burton film when you boil it down is just another 80's action film, dont get me wrong its a good movie but its sacrifices story for action.Batman Returns is not any better. Then you have the Schumacher films, and enough is said about them already.

You're my new best friend. XDOn the topic of Catwoman, WHYY ANNE HATHAWAY!?!??!! I hate Anne Hathaway. She's a TERRIBLE actress. So far, all attempts in the past of Catwoman have been terrible, and I'd truly like to hope that these movies could fix this. But when I saw it was her I was...I was just....GUHHHHHH. Stupid casting person. *kicks* She's not even pretty! >3< And...just....I...GRRR!!!She better not fudge up this movie. Stupid Princess Diaries no-good actress...This. I dare-say, I'm almost bored with it.I guess what I'm really wishing for will be forever out of reach...Color makes it campy, and less serious, in my opinion. Gotham is a DARK place. Where even the Prince of Clowns has his colors dampered by the dinge and darkness. I mean...the town is broken, and providing cool effects, colorful costumes, excessively campy lines (Holy toledo, Batman!) Just makes the films harder to take serious. This film series has taken Batman to a new, SERIOUS level. Life is dark. Crime is dark. There is DEATH in the world, and it isn't pretty. There are evil-doers in gotham who would kill you for a penny without a second thought.I believe CN brought this DC-verse to life, without making it seem...well...like a comic book! And while I LOVE the comic books, the older ones are...well, let's face it, hilariously campy! And so were all of Tim Burton's films! Not that I have anything against Tim Burton. I LOVE almost all of his work....just...not....Batman!...*shudder*Well may I ask why?The thing is that I personally think the Nolan Batman films are the best ones out there as they are more of a character study then action pieces. Then you have the Schumacher films, and enough is said about them already.Agreed. I just....I agree so HARD. They weren't quiteTHIS CAMPYbut still.....uggh. Batman isn't supposed to be a COMEDY.
Rain
As Knight said before, Hathaway better not mess up this Batman movie. I mean, i'm not expecting Halle Berry's Catwoman all over again, but she'd better do the part justice. I admit, there might have been a better looking actress who could probably play the part better, but I doubt Catwoman will really have much impact on the story at all, so it doesn't bother me too much. The only reason she's in this movie is because Rachel Dawes died in the Dark Knight, and a Batman movie with no love interest would break the unspoken rule of "Batman must always be in love with a woman who can't love him back. Why? Because he's Batman." Not many movie portrayals of Catwoman have ever been good.Exhibit A
TheColtofPersonality
Personally I dont think Hathaway is that bad, after all I think she was pretty good in The Devil Wears Prada.Plus people had doubts about Heath Ledger and look how well that turned out.Agreed. I just....I agree so HARD. They weren't quiteTHIS CAMPYbut still.....uggh. Batman isn't supposed to be a COMEDY.Well to be fair to the Adam West series it was made during a time when comic books were still under scrutiny. The comic book code had just came into effect and it laid waste to a lot of publications that relied on things like horror comics (heck a lot of indy comic book companies died practically overnight because of it)The silver age was not the time to do dark stories as comics by then were considered kiddy stuff (much like what animation would be labeled as soon after)But the Adam West series is a lot of fun, sure he is not the brooding guy with a raspy voice as most know him today but it was a different time and a different era back then.

This trilogy is supposed to be grim and dark. The Joker didn't blow up hospitals in The Dark Knight because it was "funny", he did it to prove a point, to get what he wanted out of it, and to kill for the sake of it.If you want colorful, watch the older Batman movies, they had plenty of fun with colorful villains. Or try some of the animated movies, those might suit your tastes.

FredericHorseshoepin
Am I the only person who's not excited about the third installment? The Dark Knight was just so great that I'm not sure the third installment can top that. One thing I do have to hope for is that the writers remembers what makes tDK actually great is the drama and writing and I just hope the third one doesn't turn into a video game. Unlike the Matrix trilogy...anyways, great cast so expectations high... not sure if that's a good thing lol
