A while back, I heard REM's "

" on the radio and realized that it fit MLP. Perfectly.

I got really excited, and wrote my parody lyrics to 90% completion when it occurred to me...

It was too perfect. Someone must have done this already. And a quick search of youtube showed that yes, someone

That got me depressed. Partly because I was no longer original, are partly because I really wanted to listen to it, but I also couldn't listen to it until I finished my song.

However, in honor of our "Summer of Pony" program I decided it would be appropriate to finish the song that relates so closely to the pilot. I finished my draft, and then tightened it up. And THEN I was finally able to listen to the other fan work. I am amused at the similarities and the differences.
